Dearest Human, Love God (#41): No, You Will Never Stop Growing

Dear God,

I need your help and insight. What do you have for me today?

Love,

Lisa

Dearest human,

It’s been beautiful to watch you grow as you learn again and again that a word from me can come from all sorts of people and life around you.

Is the Bible important? Yes, it is. But, it’s just as important to realize that I am always talking, always watching, always communicating with you. I do it through people willingly and even unknowingly at times. I do it through nature. I do it through feelings. I do it through songs.

It’s important for you to remember that the peace that you feel at certain moments is always available when you remember that I am always not just there, but really part of your life.

Yes, the butterfly was me. It always is.

Yes, the baby will be fine.

Yes, this is a massive season of learning and growing for you.

Yes, you will always, continually, learn more about yourself as you more carefully examine your relationships.

Yes, new chapters of your life will continue to reveal your old dynamics, that’s what allows you to grow out of them

No, as long as you stay close to me you will never stop growing.

Life isn’t meant to be stagnant. People aren’t meant to hold stagnant positions in your life. Life, people, relationships…they are all dynamic. Life becomes more peaceful and more beautiful when you simply let them be as such.

Thank you for all the letting go you have done these past few weeks.

Thank you for allowing yourself to enter new chapters and new relationships.

Thank you for noticing the little signs I send.

Thank you for trusting that I got this.

Thank you for taking the small moments to check in, and trust me, they really are making everything easier and yes, also, they are what is making all the difference.

Love you,

God

Also, if you’re new here, I’m Dr. Lisa Stanton, and I want to welcome you to my writing home.

A bit about me: I write and teach about faith, recovery (not just from addiction, also mental health, physical illness, the need for control…just about anything), and the process of unlearning the things that keep us from peace.

My publication is called The Unlearning Gazette, and my emails are simple: stories, reflections, and reminders that God hasn’t gone anywhere, even when life feels heavy or confusing.

My newest book, The Lies I Once Believed: Unlearning 52 Beliefs That Kept Me Anxious, Addicted, and Unwell will soon be available for pre-order!

So, welcome, or hello, it’s great to see you again!
